There is a difference between a leader and leadership that you need to know. For aspiring leaders, do you know the difference between a leader and leadership? It turns out that there are different types and styles of leaders, you know.

The word lead contains the meaning of directing, fostering or regulating, guiding, and also showing or influencing. 1. Authoritarian type.

The authoritarian type is the type of leader in which the various activities to be carried out and the determination of decisions are determined by the leader alone, not giving the subordinates an opportunity.

2. Democratic type.

The democratic type is the type of leader in which the various activities to be carried out and the determination of decisions are determined jointly between the leader and subordinates.

3. The liberal type.

The liberal type is the type of leader in which various activities and decision-making are left to subordinates.

4. The populist type.

The populist type is the type of leader who is able to build a sense of solidarity with his subordinates or followers.

5. Charismatic type.

The charismatic type is the type of leader who has a special personality trait value or high authority so that he is highly admired and has a great influence on his subordinates or followers.

6. Cooperative type.

The cooperative type is the type of leader who has the spirit of democracy, unity, or social justice, who has the authority and power to bring and lead the community in his environment into awareness of social life.


Leadership style.

In addition to the type of leader, there is also such a thing as a leadership style. What is that leadership style?

The behavior or style of the leader is interconnected with organizational behavior, and "effective leadership" will play a dominant role and contribution in organizational life that always interacts with an environment that is always undergoing continuous change, both in the internal environment, external environment, and global environment.

Leadership style is intended as the behavior or actions of a leader in carrying out managerial work tasks, which are distinguished as follows:

1. Task-oriented style, which tends to be an authoritarian style.

2. People-oriented style, which tends to be a democratic style.

3. The style is oriented to a combination of both (tasks and people), which tends to be a moderate style.
